Meet Dr. Derek Lin
Dr. Derek Lin is an endodontist dedicated to providing precise, compassionate care while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment. Having practiced as a general dentist before specializing in endodontics, Dr. Lin brings a broad perspective to patient care and understands the importance of working closely with each patient's general dentist to achieve the best possible outcome.
Originally from Manhattan and raised on Long Island, Dr. Lin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Binghamton University in 2014. He then moved to Buffalo to attend the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2019.
Following dental school, Dr. Lin completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University at Buffalo. He then spent three years practicing general dentistry, gaining valuable experience treating patients with a wide variety of dental needs. During this time, his interest in endodontics continued to grow, ultimately leading him back to the University at Buffalo to pursue advanced specialty training in endodontics.
Dr. Lin completed his Advanced Education Program in Endodontics at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2025. His approach to endodontic care combines scientific precision with a focus on the individual patient. He believes that taking the time to communicate clearly, answer questions, and help patients understand their treatment can make an experience that may initially feel intimidating much more comfortable and reassuring.
Dr. Lin is excited to continue caring for patients in Western New York and to be part of the collaborative environment at Apex Endodontics, where doctors work together on complex cases and share a commitment to saving natural teeth and providing exceptional patient care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Lin enjoys traveling and cruising, exploring local restaurants, playing mini golf and board games, watching movies, and playing video games.
