Meet Dr. Matthew Fenigstein

Matthew Fenigstein

Dr. Matthew Fenigstein is a board-eligible endodontist who is passionate about providing the best possible care for his patients. Growing up with dentistry in the family made entering the field himself an easy decision. Spending countless hours in his dad’s office taught him the compassionate side of dentistry, where the patient always comes first.

Dr. Fenigstein graduated from Williamsville North High School. He then stayed close to home while attending the University at Buffalo and majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology. While earning his degree, Dr. Fenigstein participated in research with the Genetics Department, where working with microscopic organisms helped hone his fine motor skills. After graduating cum laude, Dr. Fenigstein pursued his D.D.S. at UB School of Dental Medicine where his interest in endodontics was born. This led to him being awarded with the American Association of Endodontists Student Achievement Award. Following dental school, Dr. Fenigstein continued his education at the Hartford Hospital General Practice Residency in Hartford, CT. It was here where his interest in endodontics flourished into a passion. Alleviating patients’ pain, providing comfort, and breaking through the stigma of getting a root canal became keystones of how Dr. Fenigstein practiced. He carried this with him into private practice, working as a general dentist for 2 years in Cromwell, CT.

Dr. Fenigstein then followed his passion and earned his specialty training certificate from the University of Detroit Mercy Graduate Endodontics Division. During his residency, Dr. Fenigstein enjoyed learning from experienced endodontists, teaching dental students, and participating in research that earned him his Master of Science. Upon completion of his residency Dr. Fenigstein was awarded the Phillip W. Cohen Memorial Scholarship for dedication to endodontics and commitment to professional excellence.

Dr. Fenigstein is now thrilled to be home and serving the community that provided him with so much. When not focusing on endodontics, he enjoys playing golf, cooking and grilling, spending time with his niece and nephew, and traveling with his wife. When you see him in the office, he would love to talk to you about the Buffalo Sabres or his favorite band, Arctic Monkeys!
